Waking Up

I had put Bailee to bed a little bit later than usual so I was expecting her to take a longer nap, but I was surprised that she was still sleeping. I decided to go in to check on her to make sure she was okay.

When I went into her room one of her blankets was covering her face so I slowly moved it away. She started to stretch a little bit and rolled over. I just watched and waited. She started to flutter her little brown eyes open and looked around the room. As she took in her surroundings she focused slowly on her sunlit window and seemed to be at complete peace. As she stretched once more she opened her mouth and said "Cock-a-doodle-doo." You have to realize that she never knew I was there until I burst out laughing. She immediately looked up at me and smiled as if she knew the joke.

I have to wonder what she says when she wakes up while I am not in the room.
